Not Your Grandma’s Granny Flat:
A Community Meeting on Accessory Dwelling Units in Midtown
March 8, 2023, 6:15 – 8pm
Brazilian Center for Cultural Exchange, 25th & N St, in Sacramento
RSVP here: http://evite.me/3nB68AqMZJ
They’re popping up along alleyways and back yards – smaller homes that are sometimes stand-alone, sometimes built over garages.
Historically called “granny flats,” this housing type is technically referred to as an accessory dwelling unit, or ADU – and they’re increasingly popular as cities like Sacramento seek strategies for adding housing and retaining neighbors.
Curious about Sacramento’s rules and resources for ADUs in Midtown?
How big or small can they be? Is parking required? Can lots be split? How much do they cost?
Join us for a community meeting focused on ADUs.
You’ll hear from city staff about the City’s ADU Resource Center, and you’ll hear from neighbors who have built or considered ADUs about the pros and cons. City staff will be available to answer questions after a presentation.
All are welcome to attend and ask questions. Refreshments will be provided!
This event is hosted by the Midtown Neighborhood Association (MNA), the Newton Booth Neighborhoods Association (NBNA), and the City of Sacramento’s Planning Department.
When: March 8th, at 6:15 pm – 8pm
Where: Brazilian Center for Cultural Exchange of Sacramento, 25th & N St
Who: free, open to the public, neighbors encouraged to participate
