The Trust promotes mixed-income housing, and the land is held for long-term residential uses that may help thwart unwanted development of other kinds, similar to a preservation trust. The convention will include review and vote on the proposed bylaws, makeup of the Board of Residents and select neighborhoods for possible trust activities. Register for the event Questions? Midtown, Sacramento, CA It's the start of a new membership year with the Midtown Neighborhood Association, and to kick it off we are celebrating with a pub crawl! Start off with us at Kupros, where we'll have a table to renew your MNA membership, vote for the new board, or join up if you haven't already! Schedule is loosely as follows... - 3:00-3:45 Kupros (kick-off table here) - 3:45-4:30 Federalist Public House & Beer Garden - 4:30-5:15 Rubicon Brewing Company - 5:15-6:00 Big Stump Brewing Company - 6:00-6:45 The Golden Bear - 6:45-7:30 Midtown BierGarten We ♥ our neighborhood bars! Stand by for some special deals for members only... FAQs: Q: What is a pub tour/crawl? A: The term "pub crawl" originated in England where, much like Midtown, small pubs and taverns are within walking distance of one another. Partygoers could go from one tavern to the next stopping for one drink at each establishment. You can imagine that by the end of the evening, some of the folks were "crawling" rather than walking. 😉 (Please drink safely.) Q: What if I don't want to "crawl"? A: Rest assured; neither crawling nor drinking is required. Our goal is to bring neighbors out to meet each other, make friends, and bring more attention to our association. However, purchasing a drink or some food from our friendly neighborhood host bars is encouraged. Q: How do I become a member (or renew my membership)? A: Membership is $15 per person. Members qualify for this association if they reside, own a business, run an organization, or own property within these boundaries: J Street to R Street and 15th Street to 29th Street in Sacramento, California USA, Planet Earth (Note: Locations on both sides of 15th Street between J Street and R Street qualify for this association at this time.) You can sign up during the crawl at our kick-off table at Kupros between 3:00-4:00pm, by finding one of our board members later in the night, or in advance on our website: http://www.midtownsac.org/membership.htm... Q: Does my membership include beer or drinks? A: Your $15 gets you a 1 yr membership in MNA, allows you to vote for the board, lets you hear all our great stories, and provides you with a cool wristband to impress all your friends and identify you as a "crawler" for the duration of the evening. The ticket price does not include drinks, however many of our host bars are offering specials for MNA members only. Details to come... Note: Although most of our stops will accept credit cards, cash is preferred as it moves much faster. Q: How does it actually work? A: At each bar you visit, we will give you plenty of time to purchase a beer of your choosing, a cocktail, a soft drink, or some food. Then, we encourage members to look out for others with an MNA wristband and go say hello and introduce yourself! We will stay in each bar approximately 40 minutes. One of our board members will provide you with a five-minute warning to finish your beverage, use the bathroom, etc. Then on to the next stop... (Note: We anticipate that not everyone will keep up with the main group and we may spread out over the night. Just check the schedule and catch up when you can!) Q: Do I need to bring ID? A: ABSOLUTELY! We are not responsible if you are unable to gain entry into one of the taverns for failing to do so! Q: Can I bring my roommate/my sister/my dog? A: Good question - obviously to drink on the crawl, you must be over 21; however, usually all of our stops are open to the general public on Saturday afternoons. (See above answer.) We would LOVE for you to invite other Midtowners that are eligible to join! And you are welcome to bring along friends/family that are not eligible to be members, but they will not get a wristband and may not be eligible for member specials at each bar. All the bar stops are dog-friendly, but you may have to hang out on the patio. Please follow the rules regarding dogs at each establishment. Q: Can we bring cameras or video equipment? A: Sure!!! How else are you going to show all your Facebook friends how cool Midtown is, and how much fun our Pub Crawls are! So have fun, and good shooting! Please post with #MidtownSacPubCrawl2017 Q: Can we bring our own booze or carry cocktails from bar to bar? A: No! As fun as that would be, the law is pretty specific on both of these points. And the bars enforce them rigidly! This means no flasks, no bar-noculars, no pocket beers for the road, and no hiding a bottle in your jacket and then pulling it out at the next bar. No outside alcohol is permitted...period, no exceptions. No drinks may leave the bar...period, no exceptions. Q: What should I wear? A: Whatever you would normally wear out for a drink with friends! But be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, and dress appropriately for the weather. Shoes and shirts are required at all the stops. Q: Does the event run rain or shine? A: Yes, the crawl will run in all weather unless it's super dangerous. ONE EXCEPTION: Der Biergarten will be closed if it's raining, and we will have to end early and cancel that stop on the crawl.
